UN Climate Change Conference in Katowice 2018
It is time for the world to agree on a binding climate agreement, it is already 5 minutes to twelve.
I can not understand the egotisty of some states that have had great disasters in their own country and do nothing about it, because some old men in governments do not believe in climate change, against all reason.

I have been warning about climate change for nearly 40 years...had a conversation with a Wall Street type in the 70s, and his response was "We can't go back" and my response was if we don't do something now, Mother Nature will send us back. Well, here we are, and I fear now it's just too late--I do believe we have passed the tipping point. But, of course, once the waters of NY Harbor are lapping on the steps of the NY Stock Exchange, those fools will get hysterical. But, that being said, it's not too late to at least slow the process somewhat. I wish all the money that was spent on space exploration would be spent on the health of our planet. Greed and ignorance are the culprits as well as over population of the planet.
As somone working in sustainability all my life, I can only endorse this message. Well done.
Though as an aside, the amount of money spent on space is trivial in global economic terms. Far better to divert all the money wasted on bombs and tanks; $1.7 trillion, roughly 68 times as much!
It's hard for them to see what's going on all around them when they have their heads firmly up their behinds... They will pay for their greed and stupidity someday. Unfortunately, they'll take the rest of us along for the ride..

I don't know. I live in the mountains, while Washington DC is on the coast and at roughly sea level. The way I see is, a certain amount of ocean rise might not be such a bad thing.
It is a pity that the world can't work together, because there are always people and companies that don't care about the world. The new Prime Minister of Brasil has given orders to dump the climate change and cut the tropical woods more and more to make them soja plants. President Trump stepped out the agreement and pushes up a industry that has not to make changes for the climate. We the Dutch should be at 25%, but we are only on 15. Strange enough it is all those who have filled their pockets al ready and want more and more. We see what this year happend with snow in China, floods, enormous storms and quakes all over the world. Here we had to cut down the gas, because thousands of people were afraid that the roof woud come down every minute. The positive was Boyan Slat in this all cleaning near Hawaï the ocean from the plastic soup. https://www.plasticsoupfoundation.org/en In Japan a lot of people waring fine dusk masks. Today the Dutch are working on a windmill park and closing the coal plants. I live near a nuclear central and I don't feel afraid. Along the roads there are al ready solar panels
It is a start where we want in 2030 only electric cars. Still I am afraid it will come from the once that have empty pockets. Because money rules!
