Description
The fortifications were traversed by long corridors in which the soldiers were posted. The narrow windows served to watch the surroundings and shoot at the attackers.
Les fortifications étaient parcourues par de longs couloirs dans lesquels les soldats étaient postés. Les fenêtres étroites leur servaient à surveiller les alentours et à tirer sur les assaillants.

Ce long couloir défensif donne une impression d'enfermement, et ta prise de vue renforce bien ce sentiment d'abri, mais aussi de danger pour les soldats.......magnifique photo, Jean-Claude !

Before I read your description I thought it reminded me of a fortress I saw in China where the soldiers would be on guard in long exterior corridors with openings to fire their arrows through! Beautiful photo which tells the story very well! Excellent!
Une vue impressionnante du lieu que le cadrage et la perspective contribuent à amplifier. J'ai eu l'occasion de voir un chemin de ronde presqu'à l'identique l'été dernier en Suisse, dans une petite médiévale au bord du lac de Bienne! Encore une superbe photo, Jean-Claude!
