Description
The Coubre lighthouse is a lighthouse located in France on the commune of La Tremblade in the department of Charente-Maritime, in the New-Aquitaine region.
The highest lighthouse on the Charentais coast, it is protected as a historical monument, and an ecomuseum retraces the life of the lighthouses in the Gironde estuary.
The lighthouse is automated and managed from La Rochelle by the Lighthouses & Beacons service but it is no longer guarded.
It is possible to visit it from February to mid-November because the Town Hall of La Tremblade welcomes tourist.
