Description
Some years ago I came across 15 insect eggs on a plant. I did not know what species had laid them so I put them in an empty 5 gal fish tank and waited for them to hatch. That produced 13 little caterpillars. I managed to raise them and eventually they all formed cocoons and finally I watched the emergence of 13 Moths (7 females and 6 males) Turns out they were Automeris Io Moths.
Before they all dispersed, I got these two on my hand for a photo shoot. The female is the reddish one on top and the yellow one is a male (it has the feathery antenna and is smaller).
Thanks to all who have taken the time to comment on one of my postings.
The feedback (negative or positive) is appreciated.
I hope everyone who has clicked on one of them was pleased with having done so.

What a beautiful creature.
Fascinating! And the female is larger, as in many other species. Did they get to know you? Or did they just fly away never to return? I wonder, since they hatched in your home. Keep up the good work. :-)
They left without saying goodbye or even looking back , lol.
They are stunning
