Description
Today, February 9th 2018, I had Ralph put to sleep.
I had a long discussion with my vet who knows me and my pack well, and I decided to do it whilst he wasn't suffering.
His quality of life was lessening rapidly and he slept most of the time. He was deaf, confused and had poor sight, although he was still eating, and wanting to go for short walks, but once out there he wished sometimes he hadn't gone !
Don't feel sorry for me, I know I made the right decision. I am not sad but relieved that he will not die in pain when I'm not there.

He looks so comfortable, all wrapped up cozy & warm. I'll respect your request & not feel sorry for you - I'm sure you have wonderful memories & you should feel good about having treated him with love...
One day it is necessary to make the good decision, it is what you made. Thank you for Ralphie, that's it: human being !!
Goodbye Ralph, say hi to the girls at Rainbow Bridge, I am sure they will show you around. xx
I'm so sorry Andrea. Goodbye Ralphie.
A sad day Andrea.
its nice to have known him
Awww. Another member of Rendo gone good bye. I believe you made a proper decision by letting him go. You've had a long time together with joy and happiness. I understand you have a few others in the family. Nice photo of Ralphie at rest. :-)
He had a very full and loving life. thank you for sharing his life and passing with us. I believe you did the right thing.
He looks so comfortable here and he will be missed on RR as you have had him a long time. I think you have made the right decision before he was in pain. You will have the most amazing memories of Ralphie but you will miss him.
I am so very sorry to hear this...Losing a furry companion is always very difficult, painful, but you gave him a really good life and in the end you did the right thing.
I'm with Mike and Nancy and Goldie, I've known pet owners who've had the conversation you had, with their vets, and they had to make the same decision. Thanks for sharing Ralphie with us for so long, it's been a treasure for all of us, and I'm very grateful to have known him through your loving eyes. My gratitude for sharing him with us for so long. Many blessings to both of you.
I commented on your facebook post. At least he went peacefully and without pain. I wonder if the girls notice anything different?
he will have a nice place up there and you will see him again.
Pets are so cherished. They become such a big part of our family. I am glad you were able to have a long time to enjoy his company and that you feel good about the decision you made for his end life care.
Goodbye Ralphie.
I fully understand your decision as it was certainly the best one for Ralphie.
You made the best decision although it's a tough one, goodbye Ralphie enjoy those never ending walks in golden fields.
Oh dear. I knew this was coming, but it's never an easy choice. When we first met, you had Sadie, Hettie and Buster, as I recall. Life, and the round of dogs, goes on. I feel a bit sad for myself because I do get attached to your pack, but that's what happens with we make friends with short-life-span creatures, even from a distance. I'm glad Ralphie won't be in pain. It sounds like you made a good decision on the timing.
Thanks for sharing Ralphie with all your friends for many years here Andrea.
Saying goodbye isn't easy, but knowing you did what was best for him makes it easier.
He looks so comfy, cozy and warm here, thanks for letting us say our farewells as well.
Xo

Yes in his conditions, you did the right thing, also because he had almost no life left and you have other dogs to take care of. But the fact that he had a perfect life with you, is the comfort you will always have. Thank you for all the wonderful photos and stories you have shared with us about him. He was a beautiful and happy dog with you.
