Description

I created a fight scene and in the environment that I used, I used the lighting that came with it. The result was disappointing to say the least - it was pitch black (not to be confused with the move starring Vin Diesel). So I opened Corel Paint Shop Pro and told it to lighten the image. This is the result.

Did you try a render with the f/stop turned down? The default is 8, which is good for most scenes, but for dark ones, you may want to turn it down to 4 or even lower. Remember your camera work Mike, those lessons apply in Iray.

I like the way this scene is looking. the dark B&W grainy thing looks cool. You may be on to something here. Maybe move the set a bit so they're both framed by the floor to give a nice silhouette?

Good god I sound like I know what I'm talking about...pay me no mind.

Well it is very different but I can't see what they are fighting with or who. I like how the light has caught the person on the left though, that was clever. 😄

This happened to me when I first used the environment in Daz but I found out how to make it work. It has to do with the camera. I'll get back to you and email how I did it. Maybe it will work.

Give us the same scene with better lighting. That way we could see what you intended.

Something very wrong with the lighting that came with the set. The other render is who this should have looked.

Pitch Black was awesome, all you need to add is shiny eyes and they will be ready to go at it :-)

Hard to see what is truly happening. The render needs to be tweaked. Good idea, tho!

this was a patch-up job, I get it, and you weren't totally satisfied with it. But I gotta tell you: About 50% (ie, zoomed once), it's got a whole feel of its own. I love the heavy-grained blacks, I love the grained gray tiles, and how the two women are these dark, dark shadow fighters. It's a sinister, dark, eerie 'conceptual' thing, and I love it. I'm glad you didn't scrap it or refuse to post it: It could be a poster for some sinister chess match or fencing duel. I personally love this---it's a lot more than a good save!

This just goes to show you that sometimes even something you consider a failure can be turned into something amazing. This has a really cool look to it, and the graininess adds to the effect – it gives it a very dark and mysterious feel. The figure to the left with the points of light on the figure communicates a feel of something very threatening. A most delightful "save" on this one, Mike!

Oh this is awesome Mike.

Like connecting people up to a string of lights to watch the outline of thier moves.
