There are three Cross Island Roads all crossing Upolu Island from the south coast to the north coast. This is the western most road. All climb gradually up to about 500 - 600 m in the process. The highest point on this island is Mt. Tala at 1020 m. Because of this, clouds form every day and annual rainfall is much high in the center of the island than along the coast. It is Sunday and we went past a few houses, and invariably a small church, and a few people were on their way on foot to the church, dressed in their Sunday best, women white dresses, and boys and men in their suits, with white shirts, but barefoot.
