Description

Another old shot from 2013, on a trip to visit Lucinda in San Antonio. This is the San Jose Mission. It was in my "not posted" file, but only because it was repetitive at the time. I didn't want to bury you in pictures of the same building, no matter how much I liked them! LOL! I'm sure I took a million pictures of the missions, because they're just so photogenic! Plus, it was a fun day. Lucinda (myrrhluz) and Bill (bmac62) and I toured all four San Antonio missions, and had a terrific time! Top notch memories. :)

I love the composition on this with that brilliant blue sliver of sky separating the parts of the mission.

Wonderful contrasts in this beautiful capture, from the shadows to the sunlight, to the bright blue sky. Very well spotted. 😀

I agree with Claude's choice of "abstract" because your angle allows us to see these as mysterious shapes and not just as recognizable arches and walls. The arch (or stone 'ceiling') in the top right is a perfect foil to the lit wall behind. You worked with light and dark beautifully here, Tara. I've seen your other shots, and some of Lucinda's, and you really captured the spirit of these places.

This is a really beautiful study in light and shadow, line and form, shapes and colors. You managed to capture all of these in one image, Tara. Brilliant!
