Previously I've posted a few pictures of this castle, but nothing of the interior.
So here you see the kitchen of Kasteel Hoensbroek as it used to look. The castle dates from 1360.

We loved going to this castle. We have pictures of Sheree and I and our sons with our heads in the stocks there (we didn't really do anything wrong
) and a picture of my Mom standing by a suit of armor (she probably thought there was a handsome young man inside. hahaha).

You got such soft, gorgeous light in these interior shots. It almost feels like a 17th C Dutch painting, esp in the light and shadow. For people who haven't been to the Netherlands, we only know of the famous "Dutch light" through Dutch painting. This feels like that light. And I love the open spaces as contrast to the very crowded table and bureau. A very evocative picture, and I love that muted light.
