Actually, she went home one day, tanked up on vodka and slit her wrists. (I knew her) Good grief, your middle school series is like a page out of my life. I guess it's kind of a universal thing.

I don't remember there being girls in middle school, I'm sure there were. But, my middle school years consisted of combat melee, breaching obstacles, survival escape and evasion, jungle and urban warfare, and.... yeah, I'm pretty sure I attended middle school on the island of the Lord of the Flies.
