after 7 years i'm finally getting around in adding some info on this page. never really thought about doing it. i have been a member here since July 15th 2006, and have learned alot from fellow artists. i would have about 1300 images or so posted but have deleated many of my first pieces. and still consider myself a developing artist at this wonderful site. i'm 56 years old this year "2013" and was born in North Dakota. i have lived in Colorado since 1967 and enjoy this place alot. my stepfather was in the air force and we lived in Bermuda after North Dakota for a few years before coming here where he got stationed.. and so much enjoy many of the finest artist in the world who post here.. love you all and your amazing friendships we share.. lol Steve

p.s. not sure how high of a res pic i'm using for this page. take care and thanks a million you all.

it's so special that you did this, and remembered Mina with so much love. She died on May 31st, 2010, of endometrial cancer. (In the uterus.) She'd been away from RR for year or so, and people began to suspect she wasn't well. I didn't know Mina as you and some others did, but I do so remember her exquisite alit art, her constant "BB" (blessed be) and her big, often red Huggssss; and her unbreakable spirit, how she loved so many people and so dearly. And, like you, whenever I spoke about Mina to someone who knew her, they spoke of her as this huuuuuuge spirit who touched their lives so deeply. I mean, she changed artists, she helped them find their artistic souls, she encouraged them to do their very best and fly, and to not be afraid of being airborne. She was a big, glowing fountain. (When Mina wrote, in my gallery, "you made me smile today," I knew I'd succeeded. Her affirmation was that special to all of us.) She wrote to me that she spent 3 hours each day, just commenting. Every day! She didn't miss a soul. And I remember you saying---I just don't remember where---that she helped you and encouraged you and made a difference in what you did. You're part of a blessed family. That was Mina. Do you remember her portrait? She looked like a hippie-mother to everyone. And her art was just like this background: Shimmering, overflowing and mysterious, where even her darkest pieces she had tremendous glow. (And stardust! Her world was overflowing with stardust.) It's wonderful of you to post this and remind people who never met her who she was, and the light she shed. Your woman (in your image) is a guardian of Mina's realm, with a small boat in the background, and that eternal light. Thanks, Steve. It's beautiful. I'm sure she's looking down on you, protecting you, watching out for you, and smiling each time you light someone else's light (which you do often). A beautiful memory...
And yes to Mike: I know recovery will be slow and it won't be easy. It's easy for us to send love and wishes, but he's going through the daily act of re-learning what he must re-learn; the motions, coordinations, all of it. Thanks for not letting anyone forget. He's given so much light here, he should get it back in kind. So I wish him all the strength in the world. Get well, Mike! And thanks for this upload, Steve. A wonderful memory for everyone...
