Description
While backing up my recent photography files to my external hard drive, I noticed I've got pictures going back ten years. Every once in a while I look at some old stuff, hoping something will jump out at me as workable when it never did before. Technology and software upgrades, as well as years of experience, means there just might be gems hidden away in those old files!
This image was in a file from July, 2007. It was taken with my first camera when I was just starting out, but I did the postwork on it this evening.

Beautiful capture! The colors are so delicate. Hollyhocks are such an old fashioned flower. I don't believe I've seen them in this color before.

The word "crinolines" comes to mind. Love the soft textures, pale, delightful colors, and your special postwork. We need to revisit old files more often.

I just finished a year + long project of scanning all my negatives from my film days. Now, I'm doing Jolene's - and I'm finding plenty of gems. You'll probably see some of them after I retire, and have time to organize them all in Lightroom.

you went with the weaknesses of the old camera and turned it into a soft burst of a piece, where the centers of the flowers are like cosmic energy-bursts. And the softness on the petals don't obscure: They make everything creamy and rich. A beautiful transformation of an old photo. Some of my recent uploads are from my oldest camera too---Helle's 2 MP Nikon---which I postworked. Beautiful work.
