Description
Salome, in La Paz County, Arizona on highway US 60 about 120 miles west of Phoenix. Salome was established in 1904 and the US Post Office was established on April 14, 1905. Salome is also serviced by a single track branch line of the A.T. & S.F. RR which connects it with California in the west and Wickenburg and Phoenix to the east. The 2010 population of the town was 1530 people.
The economy of Salome and other small towns along US 60 west of Wickenburg is based on agriculture, Travelling along US 60 irrigated fields are mingled with fallow fields, abandoned fields , scrub desert and mountains.
