Hi dear friends,
On May 23, Karel and I went to a so-called "bare footpath" (in Belgium, not far from here).
There was also an insect museum, and a rather small garden in which some butterflies flew.
As the title says, you will see the Southern White Admiral, from three different sides.
Two of them are "in Love". ;-)
Latin name: Limenitis reducta. They belong to the family of the Nymphalidae.
Dutch name: Blauwe IJsvogelvlinder.
The whole week it's very hot here, today in the shadow: almost 35 C.

You got some really wonderful shots. Butterflies and most other flying creatures normally fly off before I can get a photo of them so I always find your perfect macros so impressive. Having seen you sneaking up on the dragonflies at the pond near your house I realize what a lot of patience and perseverance it can take to get such great photos.

It was 35C in May? Wow---I had no idea how hot it gets there. Even we don't get that hot, in May. (Chicago is a cold, cold city; but our summers shoot into the 37-37.7C range.) Anyway, you've posted a number of butterfly shots, and they are all stunning. Your detail is beautiful. In this one, the upper butterfly is a beautiful contrast to the lower two---you have design in mind, even with butterflies. And it faces another direction. Below---the two 'lovers'---you captured the bottom one spreading its wings in a beautiful panoply. (Arsenaal? Volle wapenrusting?) The light pours over them. And that tree in the background acts like a unifying post. Beautifully done, as are all your butterfly shots. (I've seen them all.) And you caught an amazing moment. You have a sharp and quick eye...
