We have some symbolism going on here which I don't get -- that or this guy is the richest cobbler in town. I can't think that the hammer would be good for much else. (T. Rex, you got any insights on this?) Maybe he's related to the lady we just saw and I agree with Jendellas, she does not seem to be hurting for cash. Really nice, IMO, work on the reflections in the eyes. They bring this fellow to life even if his mind is miles away. Just another portrait I liked and thought to share. This is behind glass/perspex and we get some washed-out effect in the hair and lower right, but all in all it's not bad. This is also where I was warned by the museum guards not to get so close to the paintings. This would happen several times and I was getting a bit %$#@-ish but then I figured I'd rather have my VOPOs ..ah ... guards a bit too attentive than not. These collections are priceless. (Still guys and gals, it would not hurt to smile to soften the STASI-effect.) Another image I kept as large as possible for use as "home art" or computer wallpaper.
