Description
What we have here is a regiment of smart stepping young musicians, armed with euphoniums (tenor tubas?), souzaphones, clarinets or oboes, cymbals, drums, and maybe a flute or piccolo. That's about as close to proper instrument identification as I can get. Nonetheless, those were just a few of the instruments used in celebrating the 50th birthday anniversary of my city, captured way back in August of 2007.

as I mentioned in a note somewhere, there's a middling difference between tenor tubas and euphoniums; but it's so technical and boring, it doesn't warrant consideration: You got the instruments in these band shots down pat. And you got them visually too. This is primarily a brass shot, where you caught/cropped it so that the biggest bells---the top/open end of the instruments---are in the center. Striking sights on top of all those blues and beiges (in their outfits). And you got a slight tilt in the road, which adds a sweet counterpoint to the whole. And yes, there are woodwinds back there (not all 'wood', but in the jargon, that's what they are---flutes, clarinets, etc). You've a fine eye for the pageant of these instruments and their players, Harry. These shots bring back memories...
