Description
Captured way back on 5/3/07, at the pretty Butterfly Pavilion, adjacent to the beautiful Natural History Museum in Los Angeles, California.
Since there is a paucity of insects in my area, I had to drive 22 miles in order to photograph butterflies and moths.

This photo very well done. Sharp focus all around. I wonder if this is a moth or a butterfly;it has attributes of both. Either way it has no problem posing for this picture.

Well, to pick up where I last left off (in my chronological commenting), this is another of your striking flower shots, some with butterflies, where you take a few subjects and treat them with real presence and power. I love the stark orange against the stark white, and the near bleached white, at that; and the frontal shot of the butterfly, with it looking down a bit. And a bokeh'd background to balance out the flush-forward shapes and hues of the flower and butterfly. More fine closeup work of nature from you.
