More from the textile mills at Sanford, Maine.
What I wanted to show you was the way the afternoon light came through the corner windows of this old building. Unfortunately, when I cropped the picture down and got it the way I wanted it, the image was B O R I N G. So. I moved a woman from the beach at Schoodic Point (revising her quite a bit to make her look like a mill worker from the 1800s rather than a modern-day woman in a parka) in order to give you something to think about.
The name on the building wasn't there, either.
Fun with Photoshop! :) All my own photography, though.

IS it a real woman you got to pose iin there, or is it a separate image you've skillfully copy-paste and trimmed to fit the window bars? This is very well done. My first thought was - "What? Has Tara become a voyeur in her latter age?" Then I just HAD to read your text. Good job! Keep up the good work, and tell Bill about my false assumption so he gets something to laugh at! :-)

Fantastic work, Tara. Since you don't do this kind of manipulation very often, my first thought was how lucky were to have caught this shadowy figure at just the right moment. I love your composition, as well as your subtle use of color & shadow to create a mellow, nostalgic & kind of melancholy mood. Wonderful manipulation magic...

Yes, you have success with that mystery woman, dear friend. I'm thinking, and thinking about her, what a bit looks like a ghost from the distant past; maybe she forgot something in the mill, and she will get it now. The mood as colours are fantastic again, Tara!
The first I thought about was Andreas Model doll. I admit it gives more life to this interesting shot with the lady there. Excellent result, Tara :)

Knowing that this is an abandoned building makes this a somewhat ghostly image. The spirit of this poor woman condemned to work the machines for all eternity. A really creative solution to your problem and a superb result.
(what is "Andrea's model doll"?) (helle's comment) This oddly reminds me of my shot of the woman in the window against a dark city skyline. It's completely different, but it came to mind for what it's worth. Mine, however, was a pure photo; you manipulated this woman into this scene, and your surgery was seamless. I did that kind of stuff in the 90s (when PShop was much more clunky), and I hated it. You did this, so it looks like a real photo, rather than 2 or more put together. Seamless work. As your commenters attest, when we first see it, we have no idea it isn't one original photo.
The light around the silhouetted woman is beautiful, and quite powerful next to all that shadow. The rest of the facade---incl the windows---is all shadow and darkness, with hints of shapes, forms, etc. But the woman looks like a story about to break, an event about to happen. And her silhouette looks curiously 1950s-ish, which makes her seem like a ghost or apparition (today being 67 years later). The blue around it is striking, too. And yes, I can see the "goodall Mill" quietly up atop. The name's kind of haunting, sitting up there in the shadows.
I don't see a woman in a parka: I assume you manipulated her form? If not, she really looks like a woman in a dress. In any case, she's very haunting as she is, in that strange dawning light. An image with a haunting story to tell, and a sense of something dawning, and the woman somehow moving towards something, a goal, a dream, maybe something lost. Beautifully done once more, Tara.
