Just one out of the tons of bark shots I have in my capacious files, captured back on 11/14/07, somewhere around the neighborhood.

This tree has a deliberate terrain all it's own. Many colors and textures with various stages of decomposition. Nice work
this'll have to be the last one tonight (maybe I'll just do a few at a time, rather than a marathon, as it'll be kinder to my arm)---if this is what's sitting in your archives, you have a major archive. A beautiful swath of tree-dom, with such beautiful contrasts and deep rich oranges, next to those lighter hues. And some very powerful shadows, and all those reddish 'spots'---I don't know what they are in tree-dom, but, here, they give all the right contrast to those broad areas of open bark. I mean, it's as if you placed them there for the contrast. Terrific capture, and cropped just right. And the textures and hues and contrasts are marvelous. A mini chunk of landscape. You did a tree duo after this that's also eye popping, I'll get to it soon...
