Description
Captured on film, an easy thirty+ years ago, adjacent to the boardwalk (actually concrete pavement) of the world famous Venice Beach in Los Angeles, California.
The police routinely monitored the boardwalk in this fashion to keep order among the vast crowd of visitors and host of bizarre characters populating the scene. Haven't been there for quite a while so I assume this type of patrol continues.

You caught the angle as the officer is turning her horse. I say "she"---she looks like a woman; if it's a "he," my apologies. Anyway, the officer looks at you, while the horse turns. And you have the officer's head right in the middle, with the house to one side, and the lot to the other: Fine basic composition, something that probably came naturally to you even then. I can understand they needed patrolling in these areas, as daily street fairs can get rowdy. Very well composed shot, and angle on the horse.
