Description
Captured many years ago on film at an auto show held in Orange County, California.
It was probably black or white originally and painted over afterwards by a subsequent owner.

Back in high school there was a kid I knew who would have loved this; he talked about building something like this every once in a while.

First of all, with the cars in the background, it looks like this was taken in the days of Capone! The hearse is too modern for that (and they didn't have color then), but I love those old cars back there. This shot has a really sweet sweep: Not only is the car long and sweeping, but your angle lets it take over the shot like the ham that it is (you let your actor have his way); and with the slant of the roof, it's like a guy from the 30s wearing a really stylish cap, and two-toned shoes. Love you angle and crop on this. And, against that faceless modern building---with "restrooms" on the wall---it really stands out. As do the old gangster cars in the background. Also, you got an old 30s postcard-type of coloring---perhaps partly from the scanning process; but, overall, it has a warm nostalgic patina, which makes the hearse seem almost cuddle-able. (A cuddle-able hearse!) Shows your usual sense of angle and cropping with all car shots; and it all serves to bring out the lines and dominance of this most festive of hearses. You've made a hearse look like a car from The Great Gatsby: It's festive and cool and dominant. I really like this shot!
