When Thailyn heard Ann had to deal with the magistrate, he dreamt that his daughter's adopted family found her and all his worst fears came true. Kritalla ran interference so Ann only saw a clerk. Her boss had left her the shop and his house.

ZZ, I knew you would be mad at me. It was in Italics when I wrote it, but the gallery doesn't do italics. Of course, the reader supposed to wonder at least a little. You would think he'd tell her now, but he fears her reaction in the dream will be her actual reaction.
And a little history on the magic shop, it used to be own by Star's dad. He hired Nriti when no one else would and let him use the upper apartment. When Fria couldn't keep the shop running, she sold it to him, and he hired Star to help them out. Every renter and employee he's had were someone in need. And it's suspected he knew exactly who he willed the house to.
