Description
Dont ask from where, but I was inspired by this amazing lady Sylvia Paul Only, I didnt have any cityscape to look at and mine is by Night. I just wanted to try it out. Had I known, how much fun this was to do-- and that I could make a decant result, that I actually love, I would have made this on a big canvas, instead of this pathetic, tiny 25 x 25 cm corrugated cardboard. Got to try again on a decent canvas, some day.
Have a beautiful day. The weather here is dark, grey, humid with 6C and almost no wind. Perfect for a couch with a blanket over you and a cup of coa coa. HUH?. But I havent got time for that, or I would sleep the day away. That is a No no.
Thanks for having a looksie.

Outstanding work Helle. God bless.
Very well done. :-)
How wonderful|! I started to watch her demo and will go back to it soon. Love your result, you must go much bigger soon!
superb work Helle
Oh my, shades of the movie, "Blade Runner," in this stellar labor of love. Terrific watercolor style work, Helle, even on corrugated cardboard.
Outstanding Work,
This shows what an amazing artist you really are. On corrugated cardboard, I would never have known if you hadn't said. It truly is a superb artwork Helle. Well done to you, hugs Jane xx
OMG! You painted this on cardboard?? * Falls out of chair *
This is fantastic, Helle! Indeed, you need to try this on a canvas! Wow!
This is a very good! Original idea! Fantastic!
I love this! It reminds me of some if Nikolay's work. Brilliant!
Great responses. And I love Rod's "you painted this on cardboard?? Falls out of chair" Rod doesn't know all your work, and how you can, if you've got nothing else around, make art out of an old dinner roll, a discarded newspaper and a paper towel. He probably hasn't been in your gallery long enough to know how inventive you are. This has your touch all over it, even though it was inspired by that beautiful video (which I loved). And I love that your lettering is mostly Arabic, giving a flow to the otherwise rectangular and linear lines of the piece. And you got that verticality---this is definitely an eastern megalopolis, with high vertical lines. And wonderful late 19th C hues in the center section, painted-in in fast dabs and sploshes. I love some of the people resting against the building, or milling about. And the red purse of the front lady. And the arabic on the sides of a story entry (and your signature hidden in the entryway of a bldg on the left---nice job!) And we can see the cardboard lines in the sky, and they work---they carry the lines of the high rises right into the sky. This is bursting and alive, it has a quickness and jazzy improv feeling, and it's massed intensely, with real energy. With a rained-on reflective street. Love it. Terrific. Hope you do more, Helle.
