“Enough!” Curt shouted. “It would be nice if we could go a week without you two shouting at each other. I realize you don’t see eye to eye but could you try to find common ground? Jo’s going to be going off to school soon. It would be nice if we had some nice memories before that time.”
Jo and her mother didn’t see eye to eye. Jo’s mom wanted to Jo to go into the family business but Jo wanted to go into counseling.

It was really fun to read and experience this contest of wills. I don't have kids, but I dated a girl who did. Yeeeeesh. Talk about a wake up call. Also, the crux of their argument here regarding Jo's future leaves me somewhat torn. What finally occurs to me, though, is that eighteen is too young and dumb to realize that eighteen is extremely young and dumb.
