Description
Ted Sluggian was part of a commando unit sent out at dawn to raid a neighboring colony. While trying to read the map, he got separated from his unit and has been wandering deeper into the swamp ever since. He keeps trying to remember what the commando handbook said about this kind of situation but all that comes to mind is “Name, Rank and Serial Number”, which he would gladly give if anyone would just show up and capture him. He only joined the unit to impress his girlfriend and she ran off with her art teacher two weeks after he started basic training. He is considering giving the battle slug free rein and hope that it knows the way home. This is not Ted’s idea of a good time.

Didn't know about poor Ted's difficult situation until I read the notes. But then one must remember he's not human, so we can't read his emotions from his facial expressions. And if his appearance is anything to go by with respect to the general appearance of his species, then I don't want to imagine his girlfriend being anything I'd like to see in a Playboy centerfold either. :P
What a great storyline, lol. I love the Sluggian, and his trusty snail. And the reins (made of the snail's antenae? Is that what they're called?) Delightful. And he's surrounded by big shoots of grasses and such, and a snake and other bits of nature. Plus the snail's head is a big plated messy thing, like snail heads are. Love the light on the little leaf groups in front and in the back. (One of them is in front of the snake, if you don't know what I'm trying to describe---not always easy to describe things in a fantasy!) Delightful creature, riding that slug with the collar around its neck. This isn't a christmas image, but I think it's ok to end with this, because it's delightful all the same. I hope your christmas was delightful, and I wish you a wonderful 2017, and hope it's filled with love from all your loved ones, and lots of inspiration. I'll be back for more after the 1st.
