Description
The day we visited Mount Rainier, we also took a short, easy hike to The Grove of the Patriarchs on a small island surrounded by the Ohanapecosh River. The river was very low and filled with what may have been some of the clearest mountain water I have ever seen.
This photo shows rocks beneath about 6 to 10 inches of this gently flowing water.
Zoom worthy.

Beautiful capture, Bill! you could sell this to a jigsaw company
I love clear water like this.
Your title reminds me of an old western song sung by, The Sons of the Pioneers, when I was a kid. Good memories. :)
I had the same thoughts as Katherine although Mount Rainier could hardly be described as a barren waste. This is beautiful. I must come back and see it.
nice shot
Superb capture my friend. God bless.
Outstanding picture. Saw streams this clear in South Carolina when I was there several years ago.
Very nice capture Bill. I would like to put my feed in there.
Wonderful in zoom. The colours are outstanding. x
OH Man! It is beautiful. A really master shot, as far as I can see.
So lovely, and most inviting for the toes.
"Keep a-movin', Dan, don't you listen to him, Dan He's a devil not a man And he spreads the burning sand with water Dan can you see that big green tree Where the water's runnin' free And it's waiting there for you and me.."
I love those wonderful mountain streams - it's been too long since I've seen one.
A most lovely photo, Bill!
I love the way the surface movement shows up as stripes on the rocks. A great shot, hon! :*
