This is another oldie I found, and a special one at that: The first Carrara scene I ever composed! I used a bunch of Carrara features, but had to abandon the project when it became a horrible mess. All my goofs on this image is what made me spring for a Carrara "how to" instruction series. So I decided to dust it off and fix up all the messed up stuff - and here it is! The only non-Carrara objects/features are the Daz ship model, Michael 3 crewmen adorned with Porsimo free gear, birds from Content Paradise and a backdrop from who knows where. Everything else comes with Carrara: - Volumetric clouds, replicated on an invisible plane in the sky - Generated terrain landscape - Carrara trees, replicated across the landscape - Ocean plane - Cylinder primitives resized into rods to simulate a wake - Fountain object to simulate a bow wave The backdrop image was used as a light source for the fill light (sky light) and one distant light was used to simulate the sun. Image rendered with the standard Carrara render engine. No, there's not much to this image but it IS nice to bring a little closure to it after all these years! LWH
