Description
Tonight, my Dad passed away. He and Mom were involved in an auto accident. Mom was driving and Dad was the passenger. they were on their way home from shopping when they were T-Boned by a driver who, from all appearances, ignored the stop sign and plowed into their car. Dad suffered a cardiac arrest and the EMTs did all they could but could not revive him.
the full impact of this event has not hit me yet and I don't know when it will. My step-mom is okay with some cracked ribs, broken sternum and a minor concussion but she will make it. I ask your thoughts and prayers for my family, especially my step-mom as we travel down this road.
the picture presented to you is the hat that Dad always wore, no matter what, when, or where. It was his trademark.

Dear Mike I'm so shocked to hear about your loss! I'lost my Dad almost two years ago but my dad was old and tired and he died from his age. How cruel must it be if you loose somebody beloved so violently and unexpectedly. I'm with you in my thoughts an though I know that words cannot really comfort, i just want to say to you, that I'm very sure, that we will see our beloved ones again one day! Looking at this hat I'm guessing your dad was a laid back person and a little off center (like his son). I know from personal experience how hard this is. I am so sorry for your loss. Just know there are lots of people who are pulling for your stepmom, you and your family.

I am deeply sorry Mike, for you and your family, and all who knew and loved your father. It's a terrible, sudden loss, and I know it takes time to absorb, and then to make the journey. In the midst of your terrible shock, I pray that you hear your father's voice each day, his whispers, his song, and his love; and I hope it will give you strength. The hat is a beautiful way to remember him, esp as he wore it all the time. My greatest sympathies, Mike, I am terribly, terribly sorry. May blessings walk with you all.

My thoughts are certainly with you and your family as you deal with this loss. Losing someone you love is to me the most difficult thing to deal with in this life. And for me as well I can not fully believe the fact of the matter at first. It takes me a while to get past the denial. This image you posted of your father's favorite hat really touched me a lot because It reminded me of my grandpa and his hat. We made it a focus piece of the decor during his funeral. This hat of your dad's takes me back to that time. Now my grandpa has a firm place tucked into my heart along with all the good memories, but stepping through the stages of grief was difficult. Sending a big heartfelt hug to all of you.
That is so sad, I don't how to comfort you, but just to say a beautiful soul is never forgotten...

Yes...it will take time for you to find the right way to deal with all that happened....a long journey for You and yours, but i am sure that your dad, is smiling to YOU and with YOU now !
