Description
After a prolonged creative rut, I appear to have hit some new ideas, and I'm feeling pretty optimistic about the results.
For a long time I've been struggling with trying to make asteroids and comets that looked like the kinds of things NASA probes are actually finding out there. Using Bryce is probably not the best tool for the job, I admit; but when all you have is a hammer, everything starts to look like a nail, right?
Anyway, I used Sculptris to create the basic 3D mesh, used Photoshop to create the over all surface texture, and rendered it in Bryce.
When I look at the images from the "Deep Impact" probe of Comet Temple1, or the ESA's images of Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, I have to admit that this is by far the closest I've gotten yet.

Congratulations on the work here. Very impressive!! So when are we sending up a team to blow this one up so it doesn't destroy the earth?
Very nicely done.
Very good idea and cool work !!!
Really nice work !
Fantastically well done !!!
I have sometimes found apparently simple things turn out to be very hard to model. Looks like a pretty good job to me and I suspect that if it was rendered in something else you would get a much better result.
You might think about using Filter Forge for seamless textures, saves a load of time.
Just don't buy it full price as everyso often it has an 80% discount. Best regards Keith
