Description
The line 88 connects S-Bahnhof Berlin-Friedrichshaven with Schoeneiche and Ruedersdorf, a distance of 14.1 km. This streetcar line is a narrow gauge, one meter gauge (1000 mm) line and is the only one in the region. It is operated by the S.R.S. GmbH (Schoeneicher-Ruedersdorfer Strassenbahn GmbH). It was opened on 28 August 1910 and electrified on 5 November 1914. The entire line is outside the boundaries of Berlin in the Federal Sate of Brandenburg, formerly part of the DDR..
Access to the area outside Berlin, the former DDR (Deutsche Demokratische Republik), i.e. East Germany, was denied West-Berliners in the early 1950's. I never knew this narrow gauge streetcar existed until on my last visit my brother Wolfgang (billcody) told me about it.

Toll, was du hier wieder vor die Linse bekommen hast! Ich vermisse auch die gute alte Trambahn von Lulleburg!
Superb capture my friend. God bless.
I would take a ride on this old school street car. Street cars were finally going out of service when I was a small boy and I never got a chance to ride on one.
Great capture.
