Penne, Tarn, France
Penne castle is a castle of the twelfth century, built directly above the village, on an impressive rocky outcrop.

A magnificent ruin! Wonderful capture and info.
WOW It is a marvelous place !!!!!! also the picture is very well taken !!
A lovely fixer-upper!
great capture
Excellent image ... love the ruins against the village, very effective. +5 from doarte's MADHOUSE

Very interesting! Great capture and information! Thank you very much for sharing!
At that time certainly it was the pride of the area , now is a valued historical monument.
belles pierres !
A very beautiful shot Jean_C!!!
Looks very precariously perched up there! Excellent photo, Jean! Makes me think of all the houses built here in the states that are either sliding into the sea, sliding off the sides of hills and mountains or being buried in mud! I guess our continent is still busy shaping itself and we are stupid when we build in unstable locations. But tell that to the realtors! LOL.
Unfortunately, there is also here a lot of buildings that are built in dangerous areas now ... it's not like as for the castles in the medieval period!
Love the ruins indeed. Only one can imagine the stories for this area through the centuries it could tell if it could speak.. looks like some renovation going on. Love your shot and hope you have more shots like this, Jean.
I would love to explore the castles of Europe. outstanding photography

Dômage pour cette belle demeure!
Wow are they planning on rebuilding the castle, seems like a lot of work and money.
Beautiful shot!
Fantastic. Thanks for the info to this castle.
Amazing view and place to build a castle - wonderful capture and information!!!
It is wise to keep the history. Today at my age I enjoy it as you do. Many years ago in school I wasn't interested, because all was turned into years and where the battles were. I also think that a movie serie Games of Thrones makes us aware of those times. Great picture to learn that we take the past with us.
superbe prise de vue !!
Happy that I do not life under it
