Description
Last night I went to listen to the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra play a St. George's Day concert. Most enjoyable!
My camera isn't really up to photos which require a very high ISO, but I like the expressions of these folk, finished working for the evening.
Another triumph of content over quality, my longest running series.

Very interesting to see the different facial expressions. The percussionists look a bit bored, the other look happy - done a good performance. You don't mention the repertory. Maybe very little for the percussionists to do? I've heard many performances by this orchestra on the radio. Glad to see some of them - makes the listening all the more real. Thanks for posting this. What a wonderfully pleasant evening. My mother raised us on classical as well many other types of music.

An outstanding capture under what I'm sure were trying circumstances. I'm surprised you weren't hustled out of the auditorium. Over here cameras are banned at most venues.
now you're right up my alley. I can not see a live orchestra in 20 years, but as soon as I see this sight, I jump to attention. (Like what I feel when I pass a Steinway grand. It stops me in my tracks.) My grandfather said (after a concert), "isn't it amazing that these people---some of whom are probably shlubs in real life---suddenly all look so proper, in an orchestra???" (Shlub is yiddish for "slob".) The formal dress is so compelling. I assume this is between numbers, because the players look like they're distracted in several directions, something they wouldn't be if it were in the middle of a piece. And there must've been some 20th C music, because you've got a xylophone (I think). A real delight, I always get sucked into this sight whenever I see it, and you got them with full faces, outfits, the whole bit. And look at the keys on those instruments---if someone from another planet saw those, they'd say, "you PLAY those things???" Delightful.
Re your high ISO issue: I think all but the most expensive cameras aren't great at high ISOs. You think the god of Genesis had that problem? He created night first, and thought, "my ISO will never catch this," and he created day instead...
