When we crossed these waterways, and there were many, what came to mind was what the 'River Rats', the US Navy river patrol boats, had to deal with. The use of this water labyrinth by the VC. The problem was identifying who were the VC, and who were the friendlies. Getting ambushed while patrolling and trying to find all the hidden caches.
