Description
Although Prague is known as the "City of a Thousand Spires", Budapest has it's share of beautiful spires also. The church with the decorative roof tiles in the background is Matthias Church. Though I would have liked to take some closer pictures of this church, during the time we were up there it was raining & it just wasn't possible to keep my camera & lens dry enough to get any decent shots.
The Wikipedia entry for Matthias Church has some contradictory information about when Matthias Church was built - in various places it states that it was constructed in the 13th, 14th & 15th century. Although I tend to rely on Wikipedia as much as anyone & I think it's generally fairly reliable, that's not always the case...

I would not be surprised to learn that St. Matthias was built over a long period of time. That may account for the seeming discrepancies. Looks like a place I'd like to mozey around in.
