Description

Queen Zlata the Gentle has learned that Gillie, who has been in the care of Krittermom, is to be set free to live as she should, a true roonie (raccoon for the others). the queen is reassuring Gillie that it is okay; it is now the time to go home and be what she knows how to be, a raccoon. It is a wonderful moment in all the lives, even if there is some sadness. Gillie I wish you a long and happy life and that you remember the love and care you got from Bev and that you realize that not all humans are bad. The photo is from Bev aka krittermom when she released Gillie. for those of you who are curious, I've been following Bev's work for some time. We have shared many thoughts and ideas over this time. I have learned so much from her and the roonies. While I may be a hunter with both bow and rifle, I will not kill a raccoon! PERIOD! There is one exception: if I find them injured, near death, then I will do the merciful act and send them into their heaven. Thank you Bev for letting me do this.

Mike, when you contacted me yesterday to ask permission to do this, I had no idea that I would be woken at 3 am to help with a red fox. After I had been out 3 hours, I came home to find this post.
Yes, I cried again. As much as I want these animals to be free, a bit of my heart goes each time. When I have one like Gillie that, due to being an only for several months, I become very much in love with them. These take a larger part of my heart when they go. You see, I can no longer protect them. You little Queen is a wonderful way to ease that fear. I want to thank you so very much for showing that you truly do care about my little furkids. And your work is beautiful. I shall print this and hang it in my room.
I will smile when I see it.
