Another great view of the wonders of the fabric store; thread and ribbons are a wealth of photo ops! The hardest part is the suspicious looks of the employees ;O Excellent shot, and I also hope you're feeling more toward the normal end of the spectrum!

Brings back memory's... I use to do that a lot hang out fabric store...for some reason there nearly all diapered here..I use to be very crafty lovely capture ..Hope all is well

A very cool (and green) shot, Tara! I'm somewhat familiar with DMC colors, but haven't seen spools arranged like this before. Of course I don't spend a lot of time in fabric stores, either! LOL

I am a fairly disorganized person but when faced with chaos outside the home I start thinking of ways to solve problems. So I am fascinated by how organized the spools are. Each with their own number and bar code. And it looks like the green goes from light to dark on the rack. Good to see you are out and about.

And trying to find just the right green----!! I spent a very long time in a fabric store in a little town south of Kona on the big island of Hawaii. It was one of those old buildings with wooden floors and so many fabrics I almost lost my mind. AND---they were ALL Hawaiian prints. Yup, I bought some and how I'd love to go back!!!

Yummy! I love this drool making composition. I have a lot of Gutterman threads and Madeira metallics and really should do some more hangings or something.

It took my eyes a few minutes to catch what it was. I was thinking you found a supply of soylent green.

Incredibly sharp for a cell phone photo. I'm one of the last holdouts who rarely uses his phone for anything but phone calls & doesn't ever take pictures with it, so I haven't really kept up with the advances in image quality. Maybe I should rethink that...

Looks like a Tara special. I would never think of taking a picture of that, but you know it is very interesting Tara!

Nice color transition and light. You created an unexpected image with totaly ordinary objects.

the most comparable thing to this, in an artist's life, is pastels, since paints come in tubes and their colors are only visible in a band across the tubes; whereas the pastels are colored throughout. (Colored pencils would compare too, but their colors are painted on; whereas pastel hues are in the chalk itself.) When I stand in front of a million hues, in pastels, I drool. That's what it's like, looking at these. I don't know the exact size of these spools, as these could be smaller than they look; but even if they're full size, they have a large presence. You got real clarity with your phone! And I can understand how someone who quilts and makes their own clothes can look at these for a long time and not get tired. It's a beautiful sight and shot. Nice tilt too, and the light is very sweet. Keep getting better!

I think the color arrangements they display are one of the things that make fabric stores so very attractive. You have made some excellent photos to prove that point. :) Art comes in many forms.
