You used the Chinese architectural elements very well, esp the strong vertical wooden beams and the lamps. You have fine texture on the wood and on all the facade elements. And you've crowded the signs in the background, just as they appear in the Chinatowns of many big cities. And you've placed Kim beautifully, with deep shadow around her, looking out...she appears to yearn to get outside, with her sword in hand. As always, you did a fine job with her head gear and her outfit. And the light from the signs behind her cast an intense night-light glow on everything---which is visible in several places along the facades too. You even got some fliers or posters or menus, in the lower right corner...A fascinating collection of images, inside this image, all beautifully done. I tried to look up the Chinese on the lantern (and on a sign in back), but I couldn't find a translation. I studied Classical Chinese many years ago, but I remember almost nothing, today: But I also studied Chinese calligraphy, which is a glorious art. So when I see Chinese painted on lanterns like this, it makes me want to do see what it means...Another very imaginative and opulent image from you, Ute.
