The function I miss most since the "Revolution" is the search function. What we have now isn't anywhere near as good as what we had before, so I can't search the way I want to. As a workaround, I've just spend a bunch of time making and populating new albums. You can look at them if you want to, but this isn't an advertisement for my albums ... I made them for my own reference.
If you've been wondering why anyone would want to go to the trouble of making albums, consider this:
A few days ago I was with a group of friends, and something came up in the conversation that connected to a poem I wrote in 2010. They wanted to hear it, and the only internet access I had was my phone. In the past I would have filled in the search blanks in Renderosity, hit "go," and what I was looking for would have popped right up. As it was, I had to guess, and load page after page to find what I was looking for. On my phone. With 118 pages in my gallery. The search blanks when I'm on my laptop will get me close to where I want to be most of the time, but there isn't even a search blank on the iPhone. So now I have an album for poetry, which means I can open the album and find what I'm looking for MUCH more quickly.
While I was at it, I added more albums and did a bit of work on the album cover pages. It was a big project, but I'm glad to have the information I want in a more accessible form!
I'm hoping to be able to get back into posting and commenting now. I miss you and your wonderful art!

The impression is of walking thorough the forest and suddenly coming upon these bells. A bit of mystery there. Who put them here and for what reason? A wonderful image.

Lovely shot It looks like a big wind chime. At least the Email reminders have reappeared and most of those annoying adverts that slowed up the loading,lets hope your search reappears , If it isn't broke don't mend it .

I understand your reasons for the Album. I should do that; and may, when I have time. Searching here has been out of control since the change, and I remain grateful for all your efforts, for this as well as for so many other issues. I know it's not easy to pursue all that, and I'm very grateful.
A dark recessed feeling in this, it has a very reflective and introspective presence. You've given silhouettes in much of this structure, but allowed a lot of green too, which is a dual approach that you do extremely well. The bells emerge from the dark beautifully, and the light in the background is gentle. It has a buddhist feeling. Beautifully seen and presented, with a slightly-to-the-left composition, and the greatest light on the right, as contrast. And the layer of grasses at the bottom---two layers, actually---brings a new light to the fore, and gives a kind of "ocean" feeling to the bottom of the shot. It's beautiful, with many stopping points from top to bottom, filled with peace...
A great find you had by this cool bells in the forest, dear one. And I'm so glad you could do this hard job with your albums. It would be good, I did this too; but even thinking about it makes me tired, LOL. I will make an attempt to look at your albums, hopefully I'm successful. But when you consider that I don't know how to make more albums for myself (categories I mean) there's not much chance of success.

Well I thought about doing this too, but with that many posts, I have (cant even See how many anymore) I gave up the thought. There is still alot missing in here to make it a handy website. I really wish we had the abillity to create a new album when uploading. Not AFTER we uploaded a thing we dont have albums for. You got a lovely capture here Tara. It seems so peaceful :)
I love the sound of bells in the wind, it's such an evocative feeling... This is a beautifully low-key and almost melancholy capture.
There are a lot of things I still don't like about the new rendo, and I just don't spend the time here that I did. I also post on some other sites that are sometimes easier, and sometimes just have different issues to complain about. No place is perfect, eh?
A very elegant & serene design & presentation, Tara. I admire your patience & perseverance in organizing your work into albums. I probably should do that too, but I'm a world class procrastinator & it is highly unlikely that such a project will ever even get started...
I've made a few albums, and it's handy for me as they are for you.
I find Flickr much more satisfying but I persist here at present although some friends have gone elsewhere.
I love the feel of this photo, but I really don't like any noises in a garden that interfere with the insect and bird sounds.
Tara, first of all this is a beautiful composition, but I am I surprised, no. I read your write-up and even though I don't understand most of what you have talked about, I agree with you on what I do understand. Flying through the pages commenting and 'getting it out of the way', those days are over. I have a few questions about the album thing and I will give you a call and hopefully you are as patient with me again as you were last time. I am on rendo again, that's good, but boy did it change. I don't know what they were thinking when they made the changes.
I love this image! The subject and the way you composed it (partially hidden in the forest) is Wonderful! I'm glad you found a workaround for the search function problem. I never much used it, but glad you found a solution.
How lovely to have the bells in the garden, an idea I may do myself but only with little ones maybe lol. A beautiful capture and you have made me think about albums for future postings.
