Description
Last year, bifocal eyeglasses. This year, vacuum hoses.
Captured at dawn's early light, streaming thru my staircase window on 11/12/15. I took a ton/tonne of shots of the hose from various angles. Had to work fast because I was racing the sun, which waits for no mortal, especially a photographer.
This is the time of year for great long shadows, so might as well take advantage of it.
Adells.

That's way cool, Harry; I never thought of shooting the vacuum hose. OK, so what about attaching it to the railing of your staircase with one end facing the sun and shooting it through the other end? Just a thought... Great work with this coil of shadows!
Thanks for the tip, young lady, but the railing angles far down. facing what would be a dark wall underneath the window and sun, so no advantage there.
lol, that's a cool suggestion by denise, but I understand why it wouldn't give you the results she wanted. (I might try it though---shooting through a vacuum tube, fascinating idea.) Anyway, I love the gritty intensity of the carpet, the strong morning shadows, and the high intensity of the tubing. You've done it again with these simple objects, finding intense abstraction out of them, and right in your home. With this intense light, the tubing appears almost as a menacing snake. And that vertical shadow---cutting through the middle of the tube---is a wonderful accent. Really fine pattern and texture work, Harry. Once again, you found another object with which to explore life's intrinsic patterns, lights, shadows and textures...
More like a horrifying land mine left in the middle of the floor as a hint for me to vacuum something.
Just be thankful it wasn't a snake! I once stepped into that inner circle of a coiled rattlesnake and jumped about 3 feet in the air! Luckily I'm still alive to tell the tale. Well seen and captured Harry.
Fantastic capture once again !
