this is a shot with the flap up showing that there is a porch of about 2 feet where I can place my shoes when I'm back from the trip as well as anything else that I might want to keep outside the then. After testing this system I saw a few minor changes that I could make. It worked out very nicely.

Ok then, this looks much better. I've slept in places all over the world and the most comfortable one was a tent similar to this in Kenya. Looks pretty cozy.
Great idea to have a dry spot outside of the test - that normally only comes on high end expedition tests!!!

Okay. So it's bigger than I thought. I'm guessing that is a PVC pipe frame holding the tarp over the regular tent. I'm guessing this keeps out the rain better and is warmer than just the tent alone. Pretty clever idea!
Hehe... I am going camping in May next year but in a nature reserve with the three big cats present.... So wish me luck!

Carin said she's going camping with "three big cats present"---where she lives, those 'cats' could be major felines...I'm so far removed from this, I can't tell you. (I wish I'd camped more.) But you got a helluva shot of the interior, with all its camo patterns, and the layout of other patterns, hues, etc. I'm looking at it as art now, because it's a photo...I just really like the abstract it all makes, esp with that devouring light. I really like the shot---the red leaves on the right are terrific too. It looks like you have a fine tent there. I wish you much good camping with it.
Oh, MY! Has your wife (temporarily) thrown you out of the house? Good looking construction! I recall camping as a Boy Scout. One Friday we were to camp out for the week end. I started pouring before we reached our destination. We had fragments of molting leaves on EVERYTHING. The scout master read his map wrong and showed up 2 hours late at the site, whereupon he cancelled the whole thing (3 days heavy rain forecast according to the New York weather reports). Mother wasn't happy about me coming home with half the forest stuck on me, my back pack, sleeping bag, etc... We also found out which tents were leaky and needed repairs! Yours looks quite water proof, unless you get a rise in ground water. Nice photo showing the inside. Looks quite roomy. Made of tarpoulines? :-)

This looks such nice, interesting and cosy, Mike, and it's a very fine photo too. I'm curious about what's in that metal box right, maybe minutie? And then I ask myself, is it a curling iron, which is precisely before this case, (LOL).
