Well 2 weeks after the accident I'm glad I can hobble around some on crutches and I'm able to sit at my computer again, though not for long and still in pain. But that's what art is supposed to be about, isn't it: pain. Well for me it certainly is, though it's usually mental / emotional rather than physical. And of course it's about pleasure and sensuality as well! This time a surreal one again. It didn't come from a dream, although I think you can argue that when an image just seems to form itself while working on it, without very consciously thinking about what you are doing or trying to conceive, that could be compared to automatic writing no? (some time later:) unusual for me it took some time to come up with a title. After I 'found' it, it occurred to me that maybe this image is a subconscious reflection on my situation in this point in time. Lost my job, shackled to my apartment, unable to do most things I normally would, but eager to start a whole new episode in my life.
