Red Riding Hood, the Wolf and the Princess on the Pea ..
Tuesday, October 12. performed my own farce version of "Red Riding Hood, the Wolf and The Princess on the Pea". We should have been two persons but due to illness I got "the chance" to romp me in all roles.
Intro: The little caterpillar Pip - dreaming of spring and then turning into a beautiful butterfly - has been promised a fairy tale. He is very shy, but is persuaded to say hello to all the kids in the audience.
The story short: Red Riding Hood goes into the forest to find wild strawberries to her sick Grandmother. She meets the Princess, The King and since The Good Hunter, who all warn her against the Big bad Wolf and "The Evil Man" in the woods.
The cheerful and mildly naive Rødhætte meets first the Wolf and then "The Evil Man". Red Riding Hood tells both where she is going. All characters in the story ends up in Grandma's house, where The Good Hunter finally rescues all captured by The Big Bad Wolf.
The Wolf and The Evil Man regret deeply their deeds and they are ordered to help grandma in whole two years. The King finds a pea to his daughter, the Princess, which in turn falls in love with the Good Hunter - they get married and now own the half kingdom.
Red Rinding Hood? Well, she still goes into the woods finding wild strawberries for Grandma ..
The audiens was very young one, but the show is very flexible for all between 0 - 100 years!
A tough week with four plays, etc. I will send the photos of my good friend Signes funny show, same place as soon as I possible.
The two combined tales I performed very freely are both originally folk tales, one popularized by brothers Grimm and the other by the well known H.C.Andersen
Have a great weekend! : o)
