Ute, I'm jumping around only to get a good 'sampling' of what I missed. It's not because the other images are any less wonderful. And believe me, it's not easy to choose one over the other...
Well, this a a Route 66 of a Future Age; and, from the looks of it, it doesn't look like the age is doing too well, lol---at least in this stretch of the road. A wonderfully ominous vision; and, as always in your images, it's very playful. FTR, I've been on maybe half of Route 66, and it's just what they say it is: The "mother road". Once you get out of the big cities, it's a lonnnnnng road filled with small towns and little hamburger joints, and lots of open space. (Maybe you've been on it too, I don't know. I assume that Europe has a mythic sense of it, the way we might think of Medieval European castles...) You've created a Route 66 from a time when it went into decay. And that car---well, it's almost something out of the 1920's, even though it looks a bit like a military vehicle. Great job on it, as well as on the bird ominously sitting on it, like a sentinel of doom. And there's an old car behind---and one gets the feeling that this stretch of road got frozen in time around the Great Depression! Then, enter the guy---clearly a modern figure---He's wearing warrior gear, and maybe he came from a battle. Or maybe that's Rollerball gear, who knows. Love his details. And I love the light: And the light on the horizon looks like something big is brewing back there. (The birds help that feeling immensely.) And you included a big spooky moon...And of course, that Route 66 sign! In this piece, it's sunken into the ground. Wonderfully conceived, with a jaundiced yellow-brown patina, and some spooky grain. Another piece of terrific imagination from you, Ute.
