Description
Space Needle, Seattle, Washington. Few people see it or photograph it this way. Anything to be different. lol
The Space Needle was barely visible to the naked eye this day due to smoke in the atmosphere from forest fires on the east side of the Cascades. Manual focus and a polarizer enhanced the image dramatically.
(As seen through the trees in Volunteer Park about 2+ miles away).

great idea for a capture of the icon. have you been to the flight museum at Galveston? I went yesterday and they have some great planes
Hi Richard. No, we missed the flight museum completely. I see it is called Lone Star Flight Museum...maybe next time.
Considering the smoky atmosphere that day the needle itself is so clearly defined; what a marvelous polarizer you have! Excellent framing and capture!
Clever and very original!
A super shot and very different alright. But sometimes different acn be good..... other time not :-P
Very cool idea....
Slick composition
Superb!
You did a terrific job of making it visible! I couldn't believe how much smoke there was in the air that weekend. Whew! Great shot, hon. :*
Very original view of the Space Needle... so sorry about all the fires and smoke in your area. Nice shot.
Wonderful capture, thats some structure. xx
Very interesting POV with the space needle.
Love your originality, Bill, as well as your outstanding sense of composition...
That's placing civilization in perspective, and makes a nice double image
The word 'unique' comes to mind. A superb shot. The high key look and the almost total lack of any color save the needle makes for a very striking image.
