Listen, friends. Once upon a time there was a wicked fairy who loved the minstrel and his singing, so she had him imprisoned in a gilded cage, in order that she could enjoy his presence and hear his songs as and when she liked. Alas, he would not sing for her...

During the night, the first maid attending to the wicked fairy, sneaked into the room where the cage was, and opened the door , for the minstrel to run away from his malevolent proprietor.He waited till he was far enough from the castle and started singing a thankyou song to that beautiful and fair maid...!

An excellent creation KT and I believe that the giant butterfly has come to rescue him and fly him away to a safe place to live happily ever after. Sorry, I am a softy when it comes to things like this!
After he had been there a very long time, a good fairy had pity on the minstrel and taught him a magical song that would make anybody who heard it fall fast asleep. The minstrel thanked the good fairy, and when the wicked fairy returned he told her he would sing for her if she opened the cage. When she did so, the minstrel sang the magical song that put the wicked fairy to sleep, and then made his escape while she was sleeping.
