Happy Birthday Jeff!
In a sense I find this photograph is showing things that belong to you, my dear friend Jeff.
When I think of you, I think f.e. of beautiful colours, of flowers, butterflies, humour, and of caring, such as this duck;
which has made its nest with youngsters in this old stove. The duck is in a way as naughty as you, Jeff, too from the viewpoint,
to pick the leaves of Narcissus, as food for its youngsters.
Then the old objects, these remind me of the fact that I so enjoyed your and Julies dressing up in Victorian costumes.
So, with great pleasure, I wish you a wonderful birthday through this upload, my friend.
And of course together with all your dear ones.
May we long enjoy your photo-arts, and your presence here.

(wow, am I actually the first person to comment on one of your images? I almost feel I should wait! Well, maybe someone else will post a comment before I do...) I don't know jeff, but I've seen his art many times, and think the world of it. And I've seen his caring and loving comments too. So happy birthday, Jeff! Boy what a dedi you made for him, Mies. So involved and caring. I love how you describe the reason for the things in your photo...and I love the photo. A little corner, but it's packed with life. I love the age of the objects and how they're still so pristine and "new" feeling. Beautiful white in the center, I love the duck who took up residence inside the stove, I love the flowers all around, and the old pots and pails. And that silver---what?---pouring vase on the stove. A wonderful collection for a birthday. And you softened the edges of the photo to make it a keepsake, a gentle memory. Beautiful work, Mies, and a wonderful dedi in words and image. As always, done with great heart, artistry and thought.
