Description
Lazy, quiet river along Highway 20 in the North Cascade Mountains of Washington State.
Now don't get me wrong, this river really roars in the springtime when the mountain snows melt.

I can almost here that water. This is a super image Bill. Nice to hear from you again.
WOW WHat a beautiful scenery. So good for a painting.... with the right painter near by, though. So nice to see you post again, Bill :)

B E A U T Yes SIR
amazing colors in the trees
Looks like some fall colours there, is this a recent shot? One can only hope... :) Beautiful capture, I see you haven't lost any of your good shooting skills!
Outstanding
Welcome back with this wonderful capture of the slightly roaring river amidst the deep forest environs, Bill. I understand the mountains of Washington State are practically sans snow, so, until you get some good old winter weather back, it might be a while before the river recovers its ability to roar again.
WOOOOW! Oh, I want to be here.... This is gorgeous, Bill! So good to see a post from you, buddy! And what a spectacular way to say "I'm still here!"
Welcome home, Bill! Great way to announce your return! I could sit on the bank for a long, long time
A gorgeous photo. It looks pretty lively to me even at this stage!

A fantastic POV Bill and an excellent capture of the moving water. Sweet depth also!
Beautiful! The start of a lovely trip, as I recall. :) One of the benefits of leaving so late in the year is chasing Autumn across the country. This is superb!
guess it do have good camping areas . very good shot
Beautiful image! I wish I could hear the water and smell the pine trees. Lovely place and shot.
well everyone here says it's great to see you back, and this is a wonderful shot---so I'M gonna say: Where the hell were ya, and the shot sucks. (I hope I'm the last person to comment, I'll die if anyone reads this.) Ok, the shot's terrific, and it's great to see you back! It really is. And yes, the shot's wonderful. You got all those trees as a big tapestry of verticals. I don't know how you did that, but the light and shade emphasize the lines of the branches and leaves (and needles), and it's like a big fire behind the water, only in greens. In fact, the yellows and oranges behind really DO look like flame. It's cropped in just the right way so we're thrown into the morass of all those intense trees. And the shot opens up in the river, cascading away---actually it looks pretty gentle, but the bright lights on it, and the foam, make it a big opening rushing 'mouth'. Intuitively perfect, and a great way to pop in and say hello to everyone again. And it's a Bill shot through and through, btw---I can't explain that, but it has your quality all over it, like fine wine. We even get a glimpse of how far back those trees go...Wonderful! I hope you're doing well, Bill, and I hope you keep photographing from time to time, because even after all this time, you haven't lost a thing. This is wonderful. (Now if you'd posted an absolutely AWFUL shot, THAT would've been comedy! Leaving everyone thinking, "man, he's reeeeeeealllllly lost it! He's not even close...")
Works for me! With no people to spoil it.. Nature at it's finest.. Stunning vista, great colours and perfect POV.. Nice to hear and see from you Bill.. Rob
A fantastic shot anyway, but those little bits of luminous orange & yellow peeking through the trees at the far end of this shot are the icing on the cake that really put it over the top for me...
