Description

To NarieFah's question Caleya replied, "a Myth no longer!" Then she spun and let loose an arrow that skipped over the tree tops. Immediately the air was filled with crows, they scattered and flew into other trees. Caleya scowled at them saying, "and now I see these spies have been watching us and no doubt passing the news to our enemies! How could I have been so blind to have missed all these signs!" NarieFah's shock slowly turned to horror as she realized why the Red Dragons were coming. "They want to destroy the egg, just as they did a thousand years ago!" She looked at Caleya, who with tormented eyes just nodded. "Caleya, we can't let them! There must be something we can do to protect the egg from the Red Dragons. Maybe we should hide it and pretend we are fleeing like the Orcs. They will chase us and we can lead them away. Then we can..." Caleya interrupted, "a very brave course but these fireworms are cunning and not so easily fooled. We would not get far before they flamed us and we can't hide the egg from there magic." NarieFah was desperate to do something, she felt responsible because she had found the egg. She pleaded, "but Caleya if we can even just delay them from finding the egg, the Great Eagle friend said more help is coming." Caleya replied, "Yes, there is still some hope in those words. But these fireworms are close and I wonder if the promised help is already too late.
Scene setup and rendered in Octane Render 2.17. Figure setup in DS4.7, Postwork in Photoshop CC. It seems crows are always portrayed as agents of evil. I fell into that trap here and used that stereotype. But researchers say crows are very social and live in extended family groups where older siblings will share in the care of the younger birds. Crows will take 2 to 4 years to mature so they need a lot of watchful eyes. They can be rascals but they are not evil. This scene was rendered with a panoramic camera and then projected to this view using the photoshop filter Flexify by Flaming Pear. For the arrow a standard camera was used so it would look straight. Thank you very much for viewing and for previous kind words, comments and favs - I very much enjoy reading them!!!
