Description
Captured back on 2/17/12 @ 10:32 am, about .75 miles from my archaic abode. Definitely the best flower growth I've seen of this species in the city.
Au revoir.

Someone clearly knows how to care for these beauties! Healthy and happy, and incredibly lovely. What a great shot you got!

splendid fmowers...great Art !
(forgive all the ebots on this comment---my keyboard fell over, and I hit the return button and god knows what...hope you didn't get 2000 ebots!) ditto, the comments above, and yes it does look like underwater coral (Multipass)---the surrounding succulents help that too, because they look very 'underwater' in nature. This is a beautiful shot of a bloom, it's just beautiful. For all the stuff around this bloom, you framed it so that the bloom is still the star of the shot, which isn't easy with the variety of forms that surround it. (Ie, those succulent leaves in fore and background, the thick branches, the dark purple leaves on the left---these all make for a very sensual background.) But with all that, the bloom in center dominates. You have it jutting into the shot, curving a bit to the left, and it's perfect. Like a strange cauliflower. Beautiful capture, Harry. You know how to do flowers no matter what, where, or how. You're a master of them. (Btw, I saw your comment on Denise's latest---ie, where I said I'd never gotten to her gallery before you? Lol. Well, on top of another scintillating comment from you, you managed to not only identify the dragonfly "as" a dragonfly, but know which variety of dragonfly it is, and provide details, and the Latin! Where the hell did you and Denise learn all that stuff? And where was I? I don't know ANYTHING! And, re Latin, I actually STUDIED Latin: I was awful at it, but I studied it long enough that I should've retained something, for god's sake...but I STILL don't know Latin names!) (Ok, in college, I read the entire "Gallic Wars" by Julius Caesar---not a bundle of laughs, btw---and I could quote a whole page of it, back then. ((Something like "Gallia something-something in patris tres..." That's close, trust me.)) But I couldn't do a Latin name today if you paid me. I mention this because you and Denise are some of the best flower photographers I've seen: One day I'll learn from the two of you, and actually take a good flower shot...)
