Description
Friday night we had a heavy rain storm with some very close lightning strikes. What you see here is the top half of a pine tree, splintered by the lightning with a section landing on part of a single story home. No one was hurt or injured. To get an idea how big this tree was, look at the trunk of the tree behind the fence. Not sure of using HOME as the Genre. Please zoom.
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated.

Sorry for the owners but glad it was not your house - looks like a lot of damage to the roof and probably more inside.

What a shot !!
Now that is pure power !!!
Terrifying! I hate lightning , but not as much as poor Ralphie.
A good example to show the power of nature. It's good that no one was hurt, but there was property damage. A superb capture.
WOW someone was lucky not to get hurt but it looks like the house took a lot of damage.
Lightning can create large damage, it's a shame for the house, but fortunately no one was injured! Excellent capture, Dana!
That looks a quite frightening event Dana and lucky that no one was injured. Having a lot of computer problems which are not likely to be fixed for a couple of weeks, I am not receiving any emails so if you want to contact me please do so through RR site mail.
The damage is very impressive, fortunately, nobody was hurt ! Very nice capture, Dana !

Oh my goodness!! Seeing such long strips of trunk split into quarters shows the amazing power of lightning! How frightening that would have been and glad that no one was hurt. Impressive image, Dana!
what an impressive capture! looks very dangerous! good that no one was hurt! after the last storm we had it was looking like this caused by the wind only! since then I am frightened that something like this will come again! ;o)
I agree with mtdana.
A scary thought, to tell you the truth - but planet Earth is having it's way with us - anytime it wants to ... but a fine capture of those ghastly events thrown at us ! BB
So good nobody was harmed by this incredible nature power. One never knows what damage can happens, but this is a great shot, Dana.
